Carbon Certification Officer

Job Requirement :

• Minimal Bachelor Degree in Forestry , Biology or Geography
• Having minimal 5 years of working experience in Carbon Fields
• Having foundational knowledge of voluntary carbon standards, including Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Gold Standard
• Having exposure to Project Design Document (PDD) components, such as baseline scenarios, additionality, leakage, monitoring plans, and uncertainty considerations
• Awareness of AFOLU-related carbon project types (e.g., ARR, REDD+, improved land management) is an advantage
• Basic experience with GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS) for spatial data visualization and analysis
• Ability to conduct preliminary land-use and land-cover assessments, project boundary delineation, and eligibility screening for carbon projects
• Familiarity with spatial datasets relevant to carbon projects (e.g., land cover maps, administrative boundaries, protected areas) is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management, calculations, and quality checks
• Ability to support the preparation of technical documentation in accordance with VCS, Gold Standard, and other applicable program requirements
• Attention to detail in data handling, version control, and internal review process
• Willingness to learn and apply new methodologies, tools, and standard updates as required
• Fluent in English
• Willing to be located in Head Office Jakarta (Thamrin)

Job Description :

1. The role will support the development of emissions baselines, activity data compilation, and emissions reduction quantification to inform carbon project development and decarbonization initiatives.
2. The position will assist in the preparation of Project Design Documents (PDDs) under leading voluntary carbon standards, such as Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Gold Standard. Responsibilities include supporting baseline scenario definition, emissions reduction or removal calculations, monitoring parameters, and documentation requirements, under the guidance of senior technical staff and applicable methodologies
3. The role will also support preliminary GIS-based spatial analysis for early-stage carbon project screening and eligibility assessment, including land-use and land-cover analysis, project boundary delineation, and identification of environmental or regulatory constraints in line with VCS, Gold Standard, and other relevant program requirements
4. Work as part of a technically focused carbon project development team, contributing to data analysis, technical documentation, and compliance with applicable carbon standards and methodologies
